Updated look at crops

Corn Field was planted April 24th (first field I did), it lost about 10% of its population to poor emergence. Later planted corn is about V2-V3 (or about half this size).
Bean field was planted May 18th.  You can see some spots took longer to emerge due to seeds sitting in dry soil.

Floppy corn

You can see the plant to the left how there's no roots in the top inch do to lack of moisture in that part of the soil.  And you can see the nodal roots are not touching the soil due to the crack.

Nice conditions at last

I have had a decent week to get some work done. Conditions were not so great as I started Tuesday afternoon, but sunny and windy the rest of the week really dried things out. I was able to get 300 acres planted this week, which gets me to exactly 1/3 done with corn. I would have had a little bit more corn, but I switched 90acres that was going to be corn on corn, it is now going to be beans.
